The Deerfield Academy Safety and Security Department is seeking, Part-time Security Officers to work on an on-call or intermittent/event basis.
Reporting to the Director of Safety & Security, Deerfield Academy’s Security Officers work with all campus departments to provide a safe learning environment.
Primary responsibilities include: developing relationships with employees to promote positive communications and team building; managing traffic and human control on a daily basis and for academy events; training students and employees on Emergency Procedures; utilizing emergency notification systems such as RAVE; responding to all emergency calls, threats to the safety and security of students and/or employees, including fire and security alarms; completing Incident Reports according to standard departmental protocols; patrolling Academy property regularly throughout shifts; checking doors, gates, windows and all points of entry; inspecting all campus buildings on a regular basis to ensure compliance with state and local fire regulations and monitoring campus security and fire alarms. | |

The successful candidate will have completed 12th grade or the equivalent; have 1-3 years’ work experience demonstrating community service, dependability and good interpersonal skills; possess working knowledge of MS Office, internet and mobile applications; have the ability to effectively interact with adults, adolescents and children in a pleasant manner. Must be able to work as part of a team. First Responder and CPR preferred, Valid Driver’s License required. |
