The Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA located on 1500 acres in the beautiful Berkshires of Western MA close to nationally renowned cultural and historic attractions such as Jacob’s Pillow and Tanglewood. Chimney Corners Camp, Camp Becket and the Travel and Service Program, Becket Day Camp and the Berkshire Outdoor Center are the five primary program focuses for the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA.
Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls are traditional resident camps with rich traditions and commitment to character development. Program offerings are in aquatics, athletics, theater, dance, creative arts, horseback riding, service learning, adventure trips, team building and high ropes. Our Travel & Service Programs offer a unique life experience to teens and our Berkshire Outdoor Center offers a wide-range of year-round programs for individuals, families and groups.
We are conveniently located off Route 8 past Jacobs Pillow; 15 minutes from center of Lee.

|Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA (BCCYMCA) is seeking a fun, flexible, and motivated camp professional who is interested in either taking the next step in their career or looking for a new camp family for this summer. The Becket Day Camp serves 85 campers ages 6-14 a week for 8 weeks and strives to continue making a positive impact in social and emotional learning through a diverse array of activities, including swimming and canoeing, archery, low-ropes course adventures and team building initiatives, gardening, arts, hiking, nature discovery, and more—all amidst a small group of camper peers and friendly energetic counselors!
The Day Camp Director will have the full support of a team of 12 camp counselors, an assistant director, dedicated nurse, office support staff, and dedicated waterfront staff. Mentorship is provided by and experienced Executive Director, who has over 14 years’ experience directing camps. The Becket Day Camp relies on a culture that believes success is highest when accomplished together by a team that deeply believes in a camper centered, flexible, enjoyable, and focused team--led by our new Day Camp Director!
Weekly salary is competitive. On-site housing is available.
|*At least 2 years in a leadership role in a camp setting; or an ability to complete a New Camp Director training with the American Camping Association (or equivalent) and a history of engagement with camp programs. |
*Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, or related field preferred; HS Diploma & prior relevant experience will be considered.
*Be 21+ years old and have a valid driver’s license.
