Red Fire Farm is a leader in organic veggie production in the beautiful Pioneer Valley in western Massachusetts. We have about 100 acres in cultivation and grow just about every vegetable that can be grown in this climate. We sell produce through our CSA program, wholesale, farmers' markets, and farm stand. |Red Fire Farm, is looking for strong, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented candidates to work in the central nervous system of the farm: our packing barn. If you’ve got muscle (or are looking to build some), want to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and you like the idea of being the last set of eyes on hundreds of pounds of produce each day, please apply!|
This position will work closely with our packing barn supervisors to enforce quality standards, ensure items are properly allocated, labeled, and prepared for delivery on the next day’s trucks. Everything that we harvest on our 100 acres passes through the packing barn before its final destination.
Red Fire is one of the larger organic farms in the valley. We grow for our CSA program (1,400 members) as well as farmers markets, farm stands, and wholesale customers — as small as a local café and as large as grocery store chains. We have fields in Montague and Granby. This job is based at the Montague farm.
The packing barn is a lively place. Harvest crews are traveling between the loading dock and our fields throughout the day. Customers often pickup directly at our coolers. The music is often playing, and on a hot summer day, it’s the best place to be!
In this position you need to move quickly but be thorough. You’ll have to learn our delivery schedule as well as our various packing protocols for each of our types of customers. Ideal candidates will have some familiarity with a broad range of veggies (we grow over 70 varieties) and some previous relatable experience.
We have full-time 40 hours a week and part time 20- 25 hours a week positions available Sunday through Friday with shifts starting at 7 am, 10 am, or 12 pm. Year-round positions may be available.
