Girls Inc. of the Valley is seeking an organized and driven Volunteerism and Community Engagement Coordinator who is passionate about inspiring all girls* to be strong, smart, and bold! POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Volunteerism and Community Engagement Coordinator (VCEC) will oversee, implement, and analyze a robust volunteer and internship program and attend special events and programs to enhance our community connection. The VCEC will work closely with the development and program department to support organization-wide events, such as but not limited to, Spirit of Girls, Business Leaders Reception, Speaking Out, and Champion Events. This dynamic position requires the ability to work with all members of the Girls Inc. team and local communities and partners. The VCEC will be a creative project planner with superior organizational skills. The VCEC should anticipate a flexible work schedule that will include nights and weekends on a regular basis.

• An articulated belief in the mission of Girls Inc.
• Sense of humor and ability to roll with the ever- changing nature of working with people
• Associate’s degree in education, business administration, human services, non-profit management, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the functions of the job.
• At least 2-4 years of experience in formal or informal educational settings including program management and development, advocacy work, and/or volunteer management
• An awareness of and commitment to the educational and cultural benefits of social justice education and cross-culturally adept environments.
• Leadership, analytical and communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Ability to communicate, support and work with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• High level computer skills including email and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) and Canva.
• Valid driver’s license
