Summer Museum Assistant

 

The Yiddish Book Center seeks a Summer Museum Assistant to support a variety of programs in our museum and visitors center during the busy summer season.   This position is multi-faceted, involves interaction with the public, customer support in our museum store, as well as administrative tasks in support of ongoing visitor services, communications, education, and fundraising efforts.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting the public in our visitor center and providing orientation and admissions support
  • Staffing our English-language bookstore
  • Assisting with public programs and events, including our annual Yidstock music festival
  • Member services and data entry
  • Website updates and support for communications department
  • Support for education programs, including preparing and printing orientation materials, course packs, etc.
  • Some positions may include assisting with A/V (sound and video in performance spaces). Canditdates with relevant interest and experience please note in your cover letter.

Schedule:

From late May or early June through August, 2026

20-35 hours per week, some evening and Sunday hours required.

Rate: $17-$18/hour. This is an hourly, non-exempt position
