Family Support Advocate Requirements:
- At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of human service work experience or six months work experience in a human service field with life experience with individuals with disabilities.
- Training or demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care strongly preferred
- Ability to use a computer to enter case notes; communicate by email, video conferencing, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Be able to handle emergency situations
- Ability to safely perform physical intervention techniques in the event of an emergency as trained in Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC).
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed in order to accommodate the needs of members.
- Ability to walk, climb stairs and lifting and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Have certification in CPR/First Aid or ability to be certified
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
- CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check
