Acquisitions Coordinator - Town of Amherst - AMHERST

The Jones Library of the Town of Amherst seeks a detail-oriented, organized and creative Acquisitions Coordinator/Reference Specialist to order, process and catalog library materials, as well as provide excellent patron service at our Information desk. This position balances Technical Services duties, such as fund tracking and record importing, with frontline service including instruction in the use of technology and library resources. This position will work Sunday afternoons (except over the summer), as well as one evening per week. Please consider joining our team and helping us serve the greater Amherst community!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or equivalent, PLUS two years of post-secondary education or training in library science, liberal arts, education or a related field, AND at least two years of experience in library technical services OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrated the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year post-secondary education degree (e.g., BA)
