The Town of Amherst seeks a Water Distribution I or II to maintain and repair the Town’s water system, including hydrants, water mains, and meters.  Responds to water line breaks by locating issues, repairing or replacing damaged sections, ensure proper sealing of joints and prepare and backfill trenches according to standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent PLUS one (1) to two (2) or three (3) to five (5) years of experience in construction or public water system maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Grade 2 or 3 Water Distribution Operators License, valid Massachusetts Hoisting License 2A and valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with Air Brake endorsement.
