 The Town of Amherst seeks Youth Basketball Referees to implement Youth Basketball program for grades K-12. This positions referees basketball games for youth, maintains a clean and safe environment; maintains courts and equipment; and manages participant and spectator safety. Additionally, this position ensures teams are treated fairly and equally in accordance with AYBL and Basketball sport rules; supervises activities at site(s) and surrounding areas to ensure safety and welfare of players, the general public, and attendees. Travels to various sites for games and events and performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  Must be at least 16 years old, or 15 with a work permit.  Attendance at the annual AYBL Referee Training is mandatory before the season begins. Background in playing, or officiating basketball required. Must be available to work weekday evenings and weekend days/evenings January-March. Reliable transportation to various locations.
