CRESS Responder 

The Town of Amherst seeks a CRESS Responder to work as part of a team of alternative safety providers that respond to nonviolent community calls with an emphasis on approaching community members through an anti-racist and behavioral health lens. Teams respond to nonviolent criminal activity such as mental health issues, homelessness, substance abuse, truancy, and wellness checks. Teams also provide community outreach services to local businesses, schools, parks, and organizations, and attend local events. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent PLUS knowledge and experience in Human Services, Social Services, and/or with marginalized populations in need of services; OR equivalent combination of education, knowledge, and experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position.
