Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent PLUS 5 years of operation experience in a grade 6 or 7 wastewater treatment facility, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in wastewater treatment plant maintenance and operation activities.
• working knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices
• skill in operation of the listed tools and equipment
• ability to complete programming of instrumentation and SCADA systems.
• Ability to guide, direct and motivate employees.
• Ability to organize and supervise the activities of crews
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
Special Requirements:
• Valid State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with tanker and airbrake endorsements or ability to obtain License within one year of hire;
• Commonwealth of Massachusetts Grade 6 or 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License; or as established by Section 257 Code of Massachusetts Regulations or ability to obtain License within one year of hire.
• Certification in the FEMA National Incident Management System ICS up to and including 200 or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
Preferred Requirements:
Hydraulic License 2 B
