Parking Ambassador II

Parking Enforcement

 The Town of Amherst seeks a Parking Ambassador II to perform a wide variety of patrol and maintenance duties to ensure compliance with parking rules and regulations for both meters and permit parking systems. Acts as an ambassador of the Town by providing information to the public in a friendly and welcoming fashion. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school degree or equivalent, PLUS related experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.

• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of parking systems; working knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.
• Organizational and research skills.
• Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills; Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to handle high-stress situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with cellular and computerized networks
