Lead Electrical Inspector
Inspections Department 

The Town of Amherst is looking for a qualified candidate to perform a variety of routine and complex technical duties in inspecting buildings to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Electrical Code and other related codes and regulations. Serves as senior Electrical Inspector, providing direction and training and reviewing the work of Town Inspectors, in collaboration with the Building Commissioner.  

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree or equivalency PLUS five (5) years’ experience in electrical installation, inspection or design; OR a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position

  • Valid Massachusetts Master Electrician License
  • Valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts Driver's License
  • Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and Massachusetts amendments and nationally recognized general construction codes
