Behavior Technician for the Early Intervention Program (ABA) 

The UCP Early Intervention Program is looking for a Behavior Technician to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and individualized supports to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and challenging behaviors for individuals under the age of three for the purpose of increasing language, self-help, play, social skills, ADL skills, and decreasing challenging behaviors in various settings.   The ABA Behavior Therapist provide services on a regular schedule in homes, communities, or Early Intervention center-based locations. This role will work under the supervision and support of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the Senior Director of Early Intervention. This role will work collaboratively with other EI specialist and member families in support of the goals, objectives and strategies identified in behavioral treatment plans.

  • 2 years' experience working with children and/or adolescents in ABA field or closely related with home-based experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with early childhood, special education, and/or ABA experience preferred
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT), Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) OR the ability to be provisionally certified by Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) as a paraprofessional or Behavior Technician which requires
    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in any major or
    • Associate’s Degree or 60+ Credit Hours in related field, or
    • Associate’s Degree or 60+ Credit Hours in unrelated field and one Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) or 300 hours experience with disabilities
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and Safety Care training completion within 6 months of hire date
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification for infants and children
  • Maintain valid driver's license, current auto insurance, availability of a private vehicle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365 and word processing skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoon and evenings
  • Requires a pre-employment exam including a statement of physical limitations in working with children, a negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray and evidence of immunity for measles, mumps and rubella 
  • Must be able to climb, stoop, get up and down from floors, sit on floors for varying periods of time, reach with hands and arms as well a lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Acceptable CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check.
