Interested in joining a diverse farm crew for the 2022 season? We are seeking a few new folks to round out our incredible farm field crew. We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time seasonal farm crew positions to work at our Montague location.

The farm is pretty big and you can expect to do a wide variety of tasks; a farm of this size offers a lot to learn within the different departments too. While the majority of the work for this position will be the harvesting the vegetables we grow, field crew will be expected to help with hand weeding, hoeing, transplanting, row cover, tomato trellising and bulk crop harvest plus anything else that may pop up; you will rarely find yourself in the same field every day. The crew works hard but ultimately has a lot of fun.

Well qualified and interested applicants can be considered for a crew leader position. Crew leaders will daily be given a harvest list or list of field tasks to complete and assigned a crew of 3-4 people. They will be expected to help motivate their crew, move them from task to task, and complete the list as efficiently and timely as possible, with oversight from farm managers. Applicants MUST have a valid driver’s license to be considered for the crew leader position; no exceptions.

We highly encourage people with previous farming experience to apply but are willing to train the right people from scratch.

Requirements

A desire and willingness to work outside (in the rain and the heat & cold too!)
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and easily, and work physically all day
Must work well in teams
Must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
Schedule & Hours:

We are looking to take people on throughout the months of May and June, and prefer people willing to work through November. The season ends anywhere between the first week of November and Thanksgiving (with hours decreasing then as the days get shorter). Some winter work is available.

In Montague the hours are generally, Monday – Thursday 7 am – 6 pm and Friday 7 am – 4 pm or 4:30 pm, with optional work available on Sundays. In Granby the hours are generally, Monday – Friday 7 am – 5:30 pm, with optional work available on the weekends. We are looking for people to work at least 3-4 days a week; though full-time Monday through Friday availability is preferred.

Location: This position is based at 184 Meadow Road in Montague, Massachusetts or 7 Carver St. in Granby Ma.

Pay: $14.25/ hour to start, or based on experience
