Position: Education/Employment Specialist 3 – Full Time

Location: Pittsfield, MA

Rate of Pay: $18.50 per hour (non-exempt)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm



Summary: Teach in a non-traditional setting as you play a key role in helping students age 14-22 gain the skills necessary to transition from school to successful employment or to post-secondary education. Work with local school districts, higher education programs, and community employers to create opportunities for students to engage in job exploration, workplace readiness training, and work-based learning experiences. Facilitate classes with small groups of students in a classroom setting without the constraints of the public school system. Lessons, activities, and outings are fun and engaging, while also inspiring students to reach their full potential. Responsibilities include vocational guidance, job development, assessments and evaluations, onsite job coaching, employer education, customer relations, post-secondary education, and workplace readiness training.



Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education with three years of teaching experience. Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations.



Requirements: Ability to use computers to include Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet essential. Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of vehicle and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle. Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, offices and community organizations.
