Description:
Are you the parent or caregiver of a child or young adult who has experienced a mental health challenge? Do you have passion for advocating for the rights of families and children and a commitment to social justice? If so, you may have the experience we are looking for! The Support Network, a program of The Consortium (www.wmtcinfo.org), is offering an exciting opportunity to become a full-time 30 hour per week Family Support Specialist. Starting salary is between 18.00-20.00 hour based on experience and also includes generous benefits.

A Family Support Specialist provides support, education, and resources to parents and caregivers who have a child/children with social, emotional or mental health challenges. The Family Support Specialist will assist families to effectively navigate through various systems of care, including educational and judicial systems. A strong knowledge of community resources is preferred.
The Family Support Specialist must have relevant life experience, the ability to work as a team member and the capacity to respect the unique needs and strengths of each family. Candidate must be comfortable networking with community providers, facilitating groups and trainings on various mental health, educational or enrichment topics both in person and via Zoom. Candidates should have basic knowledge of special education regulations and procedures. This position may require travel throughout Western MA to meet with families and collaborators while observing current MA COVID guidelines.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred but related life or work experience will be considered. A valid driver’s license with at least two years driving experience and reliable transportation are a must. Excellent communication and computer literacy are required. Latinx/Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
