Description:
Are you an accountant with strong QuickBooks skills who wants to work for an inspiring non-profit? Help UCP of Western Massachusetts provide life without limits opportunities to members of the community with disabilities and other service needs. In this role you will work closely with the Senior Director to prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This hands on role will be responsible for A/R, A/P, and will assisting Senior Director in general cost accounting for all state contracts, GL account maintenance, monthly financials statements; closing journal entries, annual audit and annual Uniform Financial Reporting (UFR).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3-5 years of accounting/finance experience
Non-profit experience preferred but not required
Proficiency with QuickBooks required; including modules for full-cycle accounting functions, especially using classes for job costing purposes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required; must be able to perform advance calculations, v-look up and pivot table knowledge preferred.
Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
Detail-oriented and ensures compliance with acceptable accounting practices and procedures and systems of internal control
Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information
Demonstrates appropriate communication skills to effectively communicate with agency stakeholders
Satisfactory CORI, SORI
Must be able to work in office full time (remote work not available for role)
