Description:
The Early Learning Center at Deerfield Academy is seeking a Lead Toddler Teacher to begin duties immediately. The Center consists of two classrooms, one of preschool aged children and the other of toddlers, 15 months+. This is a Group II position, working 40 hours/week for 38 weeks during the academic year and 8 weeks during the summer.

Responsibilities will include developing and implementing age appropriate curriculum for toddlers, preparing lessons and materials for classroom, ensuring the health and well-being of children in care, monitoring children’s progress and behavior, attending early childhood conferences or classes, first aid training and CPR certification training, supervising volunteers or student interns, and other duties as requested.
Requirements:
Qualifications should include an Associate’s Degree in a related field, EEC Lead Teacher certification required, 3-5 years’ experience teaching in the field of early childhood with toddler age children, knowledge of early childhood development, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to establish rapport with parents, colleagues and children, the ability to work effectively within a teaching team and the ability to lift 30+ lbs. Successful candidates will be energetic, patient, and love being with children.
