Description:
Position: Community Living Specialist 3 – Substance Use Counselor – Full Time
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: varied hours

Summary: Provide substance abuse counseling to Persons in the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) program; teach recovery skills, educate and promote skills to reduce substance use; complete substance abuse assessments and design/write Person-Centered treatment plans; facilitate groups; provide Substance Abuse/Recovery/Stages of Change trainings to staff in ACCS settings. This is largely an outreach position where you are meeting with individuals in the community. This position also acts as part of an Integrated Team, providing clinical consultation, in conjunction with the Director, on issues related to substance abuse and dual diagnosis, to a number of teams, including that of our group home team.

Qualifications: Certification in CADC in Massachusetts required. Bachelor’s degree preferred; knowledge and skill in diagnostic and treatment planning; extensive knowledge of the dynamics of substance abuse treatment intervention and education; experience in providing individual and group substance abuse counseling; ability to work on an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
Ability to use computers to include Microsoft Word, data entry, email and internet essential. Valid driver’s license, 3 years driving experience, good driving record, use of vehicle with compulsory auto insurance and vehicle registration, and willingness to transport program members in personal and/or agency vehicle. Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, and community organizations. CADC MA Certification required.
