Description:
Springfield Community Coordinator, 30 hours per week: Facilitate community growth and support based in the Western Mass RLC’s Springfield Center. Offer direct support, facilitate groups, coordinate schedules, collaborate on community events, and provide oversight/supervision to Advocates working in the space. $16.50 to $19.50 (based on bilingual abilities and completion of core trainings, with final rate to be $17.00 to $19.50 once trainings are completed).
Requirements:
Requirements: Must identify as having (and being willing to share about) first-hand experience with trauma, psychiatric diagnosis (you yourself being given a psychiatric diagnosis), extreme states, problems with substances (you yourself struggling with substance use), homelessness (you yourself living unhoused), and/or other life-interrupting challenges. Must have a clear understanding of the nature of peer support, and be able to communicate key concepts to others. Commitment to raising awareness of and interrupting the impacts of racism, ableism, heterosexism, transphobia, and other forms of systemic oppression also required.

Preferred: Some experience with peer support, group facilitation, and/or management skills (scheduling, supervision etc.). Connection to local community and knowledge of local resources also preferred.

A Plus: Bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish and/or English/ASL), and Intentional Peer Support, Hearing Voices, Anti-Oppression, and/or Alternatives to Suicide training are a big plus.
