Be part of a nationwide effort to reduce opioid deaths by 40%. The Coordinator will serve as the organizer and point person for the City of Holyoke’s Healing Communities Study (HCS) Coalition - https://healingcommunitiesstudy.org/communities/maholyoke.html. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Boston Medical Center’s HCS research team funded through a grant from NIDA and SAMHSA, and will collaborate with HCS’s Community Engagement Facilitator to build the capacity of the Holyoke HCS Coalition to carry out the six phases of the Communities That Heal (CTH) intervention. The Coordinator will assume administrative responsibilities and prepare the Coalition to sustain community-led efforts beyond the term of the grant. The Community Coordinator candidate should believe strongly in the value of harm reduction for preventing deaths and the importance of having voices of people with lived experience at the table. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work constructively with a diverse group of key stakeholders, including community leaders, recovery programs, addiction treatment providers, law enforcement and medical and mental health providers. Requirements: Qualifications include: • Familiarity with Holyoke community – experience as Holyoke resident strongly preferred • Experience in community organizing and community building • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for some education • Lived experience with Opioid Use Disorder highly preferred • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) required; Bicultural (Puerto Rican a plus) preferred • Experience with virtual meeting facilitation/online meeting tools a plus • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation needed This is a two-year, full-time, grant funded position, with additional part-time funding through the end of calendar year 2022.
