Description:
The Atlas Farm Store seeks a qualified candidate to join the prepared foods team!

General description
The Atlas Farm Store began providing ready-to-eat foods in August 2017 to expand options for shoppers, utilize top quality and seconds Atlas produce, and move toward establishing an Atlas Farm Café. The Prepared Foods Assistant will work with the Prepared Foods Manager in maintaining daily production of all prepared food items. The job takes place on site at the Farm Store and off site at a nearby commercial kitchen. This is a part- to full-time, year-round position and reports to the Prepared Foods Manager.

Job responsibilities
• Washing, prepping and chopping farm grown produce
• Following recipes to make prepared food items, including cooked dishes, salads, slaws and wraps, packaging and labeling food
• Following existing food safety protocols
• Dishwashing, cleaning kitchen tools and equipment, helping maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
• Helping Prepared Foods Manager maintain inventory of ingredients, containers, and labels for the prepared foods program
• Helping Prepared Foods Manager maintain in-store salad bar
• Assisting as needed with food preparation and distribution for occasional on-site events
• Working with additional farm store staff to help complete tasks for the prepared foods program as needed

Desired Qualifications
• At least one year experience working in a kitchen or food service setting
• Knowledge of and passion for local agriculture and produce
• ServSafe and Allergen Awareness certification a plus

Compensation and Schedule
• hourly wage ($14-$16) commensurate with experience
• free farm produce
• 25% discount on all supply vendor products carried at the Farm Store
• 5 days/week schedule averaging 30-40 hours per week; exact daily schedule to be determined
