Description:
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst is seeking an outgoing friendly individual to create a positive experience for Museum guests. Guest Services Staff work at Admissions, within the Galleries and the Reading Library. Duties include sale of daily Museum admission, advance program tickets, and memberships; Gallery security; maintenance of the Reading Library by shelving books and leading Storytime. The ideal candidate for this position will be committed to engaging with patrons and providing outstanding customer service which includes sharing their knowledge of picture books, responding to patron concerns and questions, resolving general complaints from guests and members on site, and efficient, accurate cashiering. In order to provide excellent service, Staff will stay abreast of current and upcoming exhibitions, films, educational programs, and marketing campaigns.
Requirements:
Reporting to the Guest Services Coordinator the position requires a team oriented person who is capable of multi-tasking; applicants should have previous experience working with the public, an interest in Museum work is preferred. Approx. 14 hours per week Tuesdays 9:30-4:30 and Saturdays 9:30-5:30.
