Medical Assistants at Behavioral Health Network coordinate with medical providers to provide assessments of individuals served prior to their medical appointments. Medical Assistants schedule appointments with providers, maintain supplies and equipment. Additionally Medical Assistants measure and record vital signs as needed and perform randomized drug screening. BHN Springfield OTP uses medication protocols approved by the Medical Director to ensure patients are safely detoxified from these substances. These protocols are evidenced based, and are implemented through assessment and re-assessment practices throughout the process.
