Description:
Are you an organized and detail oriented individual who has medical billing or collections experience? Then come join our Billing team as a Payment Specialist.

Payment Specialists demonstrate competence in completing various billing functions. Payment Specialists are responsible for manually and electronically posting all receipts received from BHN funding sources, identifying and solving payment problems, and posting deposits prior to closing the month end financials. Payment Specialists also work with the payment posting support team to help find a resolution to any payment challenges that arise which may prohibit the individual’s ability to post the deposit within the appropriate timeframe as determined by management. Payment Specialists navigate payer websites and various technical resources to store and utilize explanation of benefits (EOB’s) for payment entry. Additionally, Payment Specialists escalate and engage with insurance companies for EOB related issues and resolution of adjudication discrepancies.

Requirements:
Payment Specialists at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

At least one (1) year of posting payments (required).
Overall revenue cycle experience should exceed five (5) years (preferred).
Ability to schedule, meet and maintain daily and monthly routines, as well as preserve the integrity of the EHR.
Must have strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections with CPT, ICD10, and HCPC coding and medical terminology, as well as an overall understating of managed care products (HMO, PPO, ACO, etc.).
Basic Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must possess good analytic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to organize tasks and priorities as well as meet various goals.
Ability to work extensively with computers and software with a minimum of supervision.
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
