Autism Connections serves individuals throughout Western Massachusetts and some towns in the North Quabbin area. We are seeking individuals experienced in the field of autism to work as skills trainer with children/young adults in their home and community. Responsible for teaching skills and following behavioral strategies. In- Home: Role is to assist the individual’s participation in normative home based activities. The goal of the skills trainer is to work in the home with the participant to help increase their daily living or independent living skills. This may include personal hygiene tasks, chores, meal prep, money management etc. Community-Based: Role is to assist the individual’s participation in community based activities, both generic and specialized. The goal of the skills trainer is to go into the community with the participant to help increase the participant’s community living skills development. This may include learning to use the library, make a purchase at a store or participate in a group based community setting like a swim program or gym etc. Availability - Weekday afternoons and evenings. Weekend availability preferred.
