Description:
The Odyssey Bookshop is looking for an experienced Events Coordinator to join our team! The Odyssey hosts and co-sponsors over 125 events a year, including adult and children’s authors. This position necessitates working closely with publicists and authors as well as other key staff members to plan and execute in-store and offsite events. The successful candidate will be meticulous about details and timelines, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, including graphic skills, and enjoy working with the public. Bookselling experience is a plus!

Essential tasks will include writing event proposals, following up with publicists, scheduling in-store and offsite events, securing co-sponsors, placing book orders, and putting together press releases. Other responsibilities will include event outreach (creating and distributing flyers, website and social media promotion, etc.).

This position includes at least one evening per week and some weekend hours depending on the event schedule.

This is a 20 hours/week position. Hourly wage is dependent on previous work experience.
