Free Press fights to save Net Neutrality, achieve affordable internet access for all, uplift the voices of people of color in the media, challenge old and new media gatekeepers to serve the public interest, end unwarranted surveillance, defend press freedom and reimagine local journalism.

We’re in search of a digital specialist who enjoys loading, coding and building out digital tools to support our organizing and mobilizing efforts. You will expand and deepen Free Press’ online presence by anchoring the backend work that makes our digital engagement possible. You will work collaboratively with the digital team to manage the backend production of our digital content. In addition, you will develop and engage with a rigorous testing and analytics program to inform our email- and online-engagement strategies to increase engagement in campaigns and online fundraising.

Work location is negotiable. We have offices in Florence, Mass. and Washington D.C. and are open to considering remote work in other U.S. locations.

The typical starting salary for a digital manager at Free Press who meets the above qualifications is $62,000–67,000. Starting salary is negotiated based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements:
-Extensive experience working with CRM technology, constructing and troubleshooting email templates and webpages, and QA’ing HTML emails
-Experience integrating and working across CMS/CRM technologies
-4+ years of directly relevant experience working with a digital firm or progressive advocacy organization
-Experience managing vendors
-Experience with ActionKit or other CRMs
-Fluency in HTML, CSS, SQL and JavaScript
-Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting problems in a rapid-response environment
-Experience with any of the following: Amazon Web Services, GitHub and/ or Cloudflare
-Experience working with APIs (RESTFUL or XML RPC)
-Understanding of Django
-Q/A testing experience
-Experience balancing competing priorities and needs
-Experience with digital-security practices and implementation
