Description:
Free Press fights to save Net Neutrality, achieve affordable internet access for all, uplift the voices of people of color in the media, challenge old and new media gatekeepers to serve the public interest, end unwarranted surveillance, defend press freedom and reimagine local journalism.

We’re looking for a dynamic campaign manager to engage Free Press’ 1.4 million members, hundreds of national and statewide allies, and the broader public to transform how communities stay informed and civically engaged. The campaign manager will help expand Free Press’ News Voices local-journalism project on a national scale: running state-based campaigns to transform local news, working with newsrooms and community groups, and building a network of organizations, journalists and activists who work in journalism and community engagement.

This is a fixed term position for 24 months from date of hire, with continuance dependent on funding and other strategic considerations.

Work location is negotiable. We have offices in Florence, Mass. and Washington D.C. and are open to considering remote work in other U.S. locations.

The typical starting salary for a campaign manager at Free Press who meets the above qualifications is between $60,000–65,000.

Starting salary is negotiated based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Free Press Is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value excellence and diversity in our workforce. People of color, women, people with disabilities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and we encourage candidates to submit applications by Dec. 15, 2018. This search will remain open until the position is filled. The ideal candidate will be available to begin work in January 2019.
