Description:
Eppendorf is looking for a Research Scientist to work in the bioprocess applications lab with a focus on Pilot Production Scale product development, applications development, customer support & training. The individual will be responsible for the new Pilot Production Scale Single-Use Bioreactor (SUB) as well as existing Sterilization in Place (SIP) products.

What you could do for us in this role:
Timely and qualitative implementation of bioprocess projects, in consultation with Dir., Technical Applications, on cell culture, fermentation with a focus on but not limited to Pilot Scale.
Work with portfolio and engineering to develop new products and execute experiments to validate and support new and existing products from bench to Pilot Production scale.
Planning and execution of various product related tests, analyze and present data in a clear, concise format. Produce protocols and application notes for internal and external publications.
Characterization of SUB and SIP bioreactors (kLa, OTR, power input, mixing time, etc.)
Provide training to Eppendorf employees and customers.
Evaluate new technologies or products for potential integration into product portfolio.
Evaluate novel and competitive pilot production techniques and equipment findings.

Requirements:
We are looking for the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of bioprocess engineering, biotechnology or comparable field required. Masters, Ph.D. or advanced Engineering degree in bioprocess area desired.
Minimum 2-5 years bioprocess hands-on experiences with bioreactors/fermentors in industrial settings required (R&D, PD, applications lab or bio pharmaceutical production facility etc.).
Direct operational experiences with pilot scale single use bioreactors (SUB) highly desired
Bioprocess engineering, bioreactor design and scale-up experiences desired.
Product development experiences desired
