Description:
Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a school administrator to provide high level support to the dean in the School of Critical Social Inquiry.

The school administrator oversees the daily operations of the School of Critical Social Inquiry (CSI) and provides administrative support to the dean and CSI faculty through a variety of supervisory, administrative, and coordinating duties. Duties include consulting with the dean in planning, budget, and policy development as well as office management, coordinating school curriculum, administrative support, and event coordination. This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

An associate degree or equivalent is required with a minimum of three years of job-related experience. Candidate must have basic business and technical skills competency to actively manage and communicate about budget, curriculum tracking, and scheduling, including but not limited to word processing, excel spreadsheets, calendar, email, and Colleague or similar software. The school administrator must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, complex setting; demonstrate flexibility and ability to exercise independent judgment; coordinate varying deadlines; and possess a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality. The school administrator must be able to interact professionally with diverse constituencies in a positive, collaborative manner. Previous supervisory experience is desirable. This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
