Red Fire Farm is a leader in organic veggie production in the beautiful Pioneer Valley in western Massachusetts. We have about 100 acres in cultivation and grow just about every vegetable that can be grown in this climate. We sell produce through our CSA program, wholesale, farmers' markets, and farm stand. We are seeking a local food loving person with skills in planning and program coordination to join our team part-time. Having a great eye for details, a good relationship with timelines, and experience in customer service and working with the public are important for this job. In this role, you will help develop and maintain programs that help get 100 acres of organic produce out to the community!

This position will work at our Montague and Granby farm locations, with the majority of office time based in Montague. 

Responsibilities:

Develop plans and farm programs from toothpicks to staffing to timelines

Maintain programs over time, increasing sales and deepening community connections

Coordinate staff and volunteers and develop relationships

Customer service and office functions, phones, email, administrative tasks

Order and track materials within budgetary plans and organize materials for events

Develop online materials, sign up forms, process sales, and more

Social media content creation and posting

Outreach, sales and coordination with sponsors and local organizations

Outreach to the public, tabling, demonstrations, flyering, calls

Communicate well with managers and teams on the farm

Flexibility to jump in to various farm tasks if needed

SCHEDULE & HOURS: This position starts immediately and continues year round, about 20-25 weekly hours the majority of the year, with a quieter time in January to mid-April. Potential for additional hours in other farm departments. This job requires some flexible hours during busy times and event days as scheduled in advance. Regular schedule can be planned with you, and would be mainly Monday-Friday afternoons.

SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience, includes paid sick time, plus all the organic produce you can eat.

The ideal candidate for this role would have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Customer service experience via phone and email
  • Great computer skills; must be confident with Microsoft Office Suite and email inbox management
  • Time management and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Experience organizing events or coordinating the work of other staff
  • Familiarity with Facebook and social media
  • Interest in working with the farm for 2 years or more
  • Must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. repeatedly and easily
  • Experience with local food cooking, CSA, farmers markets a plus
