FFI is growing and we have created a new position on our team for a Senior Manager, Training and Capacity Building. This person will co-design, develop strategy for, and co-lead implementation of FFI’s work to build the capacity of public systems and private nonprofit organizations to orient around wellbeing. Specifically, this position is responsible for supporting integration of the Five Domains of Wellbeing into culture, policy and structure, and practice via multiple strategies, including envisioning and co-creating new partnerships and projects; planning for and implementing existing projects; and identifying and acting on other leveraged opportunities for change.

The Senior Manager, Training and Capacity Building position works closely with the Director of Strategic Capacity Building to build and steward relationships with prospective partners in all fields to ensure that FFI’s work amplifies and is amplified across disciplines, and to equip diverse partners to help others orient around wellbeing. The primary focus in the first couple of years will be supporting sexual and domestic violence systems of care to integrate a wellbeing orientation in assessment, service delivery, documentation, evaluation, hiring and supervision by developing and providing capacity building including traditional training, technical assistance, and related learning tools in a range of formats (e.g., in person and virtual engagements, document review).
A minimum of 5-7 years of combined experience working directly with people living at the intersection of poverty, trauma and violence; developing and delivering engaging cross-field trainings, workshops, learning tools, and curriculum to diverse audiences; and providing formal and informal coaching and support around the implementation of new practices.
A graduate degree in social work, public health, public policy, sociology or a related field; additional life and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience working in or with organizations serving people who have experienced and perpetrated sexual and domestic violence.
Deep understanding of the sexual and domestic violence field in the United States; and preferably, Massachusetts.
Interest in and ability to build and steward relationships with key individuals at national organizations and state and federal agencies to help achieve FFI’s purpose and mission.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging curriculum and provide formal and informal training, technical assistance, coaching and support to others in adopting and implementing new practices and changes.
Experience in successfully engaging adult learners through a variety of techniques.
Strong writing and presenting skills; demonstrated ability to communicate authentically and compellingly, and to facilitate conversations with program participants, frontline staff, executives, and policy makers.
Experience working independently, managing projects and timelines, and communicating clearly and regularly with colleagues and partners.
Experience participating in a system reform or change effort.
Extremely organized, detail-oriented, self-directed and curious.
High tolerance for ambiguity.
Dedication to social justice and ending cycles of poverty, violence, trauma and oppression.
The belief that everyone has a right to wellbeing.

This position reports to the Director of Strategic Capacity Building and is a member of FFI’s capacity building team. This is a full-time, exempt position located in Massachusetts. FFI’s headquarters are in Greenfield, MA, with a growing number of staff working remotely throughout the country. The Senior Manager, Training and Capacity Building position will require frequent and extensive travel throughout the state (a minimum of 50% of the time). All business related travel will be paid for by FFI in accordance with our travel policy.
