The ideal candidate has a passion for fieldwork and sees themselves caring for our flower crop, from transplanting to bouquet making for our flower CSA members, farmers’ markets, and wholesale customers. The flower crew member must be available to work now through mid-September. Responsibilities – Plant vegetable and flower starts and assist with greenhouse tomato care – Fieldwork including weeding and harvesting of flowers – Making bouquets for scheduled deliveries – Assistance with greenhouse and vegetable farm activities, as needed – Driver’s license not required, but must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in all conditions – Watering and venting greenhouse (additional weekend hours available) Schedule Position begins in May and runs through mid-September. Complete availability through completion of flower season is an absolute must. Winter work in other farm departments may be available. Hours Typical hours are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, with a one-hour lunch. Due to the nature of farming, all crew are expected to be available to work on the holidays that occur during the active farming season, and to be flexible with the length of work days during the season.
