Description:
Seeking part time Child Witness Advocate to work as part of a Community Health Team. Provide support and advocacy services to children who witness domestic violence with emphasis on both supporting children and supporting the bond between the child and the non-offending parent. The advocate will work with children, with non-offending parents, and with Domestic Violence Advocates. The Child Witness Advocate will also work in collaboration with HCHC Community Health Workers and Community Health Team in order to address the full spectrum of children’s needs, and will work closely with other community service providers and the Southern Hilltown Domestic Violence Task Force. The ideal candidate will be a team player and will be skilled at working with children as well as developing relationships and collaborating with a broad range of people in order to coordinate services and meet the needs of children. Experience working within the field of domestic violence and working with children required. The Child Witness Advocate will also assist with outreach and education efforts in collaboration with the Southern Hilltown Domestic Violence Task Force and Safe Passage. Requirements:
Qualifications include BA degree or equivalent. Car required and must be able to provide transportation for clients provided it is deemed safe through a safety protocol. Knowledge of community and rural services preferred. The ability to collaborate and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is a must.
