Salary Range: Location: Per Year NORTHAMPTON MA Job Type: Category: Full Time Customer Service Education Level: Work Experience: High School or Equivalent Preference: Nice to have Up to One Year Preference: Nice to have Skills/Certifications/Licences: Knowledge of organic and conventional produce - Preference: Nice to have Description: Purpose: Stock and display fresh produce while providing prompt, friendly, helpful customer service to help meet department goals for sales, margin, labor and customer service. Pay Level III Responsibilities: 1. Assist customers with product questions and special orders. Offer samples and suggestions for purchase and preparation in friendly, courteous manner. 2. Replenish and rotate displays, culling several times daily, and following stocking priorities set by Produce Team Leader. 3. Trim, wash, bundle produce, following priorities set by Produce Team Leader. 4. Dispose of damaged or spoiled goods promptly, with appropriate notification and documentation. 5. Remove trash, clean cases and keep prep and storage areas in clean, orderly condition. 6. Use equipment safely. Monitor cooler and walk-in temperatures and follow procedures for handling breakdowns. Advise Produce Team Leader of equipment repair and replacement needs. 7. Ensure Food Safety and Organic Food Handling requirements are upheld. 8. Participate in periodic inventory. 9. Perform other tasks assigned by Produce Team Leader. 10. Attend department meetings and storewide meetings. Requirements: Qualifications: Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Familiarity with, or interest in produce. Experience serving the public. Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to work in cold, wet conditions. Manual dexterity with department equipment.
