MCS is currently recruiting a provider in the Belchertown/Chicopee area who would be willing to share their home with retired gentlemen. As a provider you would be establishing a supportive relationship that offers opportunities for growth and development. Shared Living Providers receive a generous tax-free stipend that reflects the level of care needed by the individual. The agency also provides nursing, clinical and respite support. Emergency on-call assistance is available. Monthly in home visits from a case manager and comprehensive training for all caregivers is provided. This gentleman has lived in his own apartment and in Belchertown for many years. He has many skills and remains very active, while realizing the need for additional supports as he ages. While very social, he would prefer living in a quiet home. There is the need for medical oversight and some accessibility as he uses a walker. To be considered as a provider you must pass a CORI/ Fingerprint background check, have a valid driver’s license and provide references. Candidates should have some experience working in Human Services or supporting individuals with disabilities. Training will be provided to meet the requirements.
