ENERGY TECHNICIAN 2

Community Action’s Energy program is seeking a full-time Energy Technician 2. This position will conduct energy audits for income eligible clients both in single family and multi-family buildings and various other projects encompassing energy technical support throughout Franklin and Hampshire Counties (occasionally in Hampden and Berkshire counties).
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, green building, engineering or related field required. Associates degree in related field and 3 years’ experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s. 2 yrs experience with heating systems and BPI building analyst or equivalent required.

Candidates should have a knowledge of building codes, building design, building diagnostics and building instruction including inherent problems associated with older & multi-family homes. Knowledge of solar gains and losses, heating system design and testing, VOCs & how to mitigate mold/mildew, etc. Proficient computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills needed. Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individuals with low incomes.
