Description:
For 40 years, the Center for EcoTechnology has helped people and businesses in Massachusetts save energy and reduce waste. We provide practical solutions that save energy, materials and money and have a positive impact on our environment and community. In 2016 we exceeded our three year mission impact goals of helping 80,000 people save one million dollars and reducing their impact on the environment equal to taking 100,000 cars off the road and 40,000 homes off the grid for a year. Our 2017-19 goals include expanding our environmental impact and developing innovative pilot programs such as local carbon offsets, deeper energy retrofits, and building deconstruction.

We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance and Business Intelligence to join the Executive team, reporting directly to the President. The Director oversees the financial and information services functions of our dynamic organization. The Director of Finance and Business Intelligence is responsible for CET’s financial processes including short and long term cash management, accounts receivable and payable, and the budget development and reporting process. The Director manages the terms and conditions and legal compliance for insurance, contracts, and regulatory concerns. The Director applies her/his knowledge of the organization’s needs to direct the development and implementation of timely and appropriate information technology and information systems. The Director of Finance and Business Intelligence directly supervises finance and IT/IS management.

Overview of Responsibilities:
Financial management: Provides financial advice and strategy for the creation and implementation of new business strategies and cost efficiency measures. Oversees financial tracking and reporting and all accounting functions. Oversees annual budget process and conducts regular reviews of forecasts and budget-to-actual numbers. Develops and maintains beneficial banking relationships and manages financing needs and commitments.

Information Technology and Systems: Develops and implements IT/IS strategy for the organization. Directs the development and management of data systems, IT infrastructure and communications systems and equipment. Researches and evaluates new technologies on an on-going basis.

Legal and compliance: In consultation with appropriate staff and counsel, ensures compliance in for all Federal, State and local regulations and requirements, and proper implementation of contracts and agreements. Procures and manages business insurance.

Personnel management: Manages performance of direct reports. Provides leadership and mentoring to guide employees’ development. Ensures CET’s values are advanced in all relationships.
Requirements:
5-7 years in business management including financial and information services, with a solid understanding of CET’s mission and culture. Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, finance or related field preferred. 5 years of personnel management experience. Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategy on the executive level and collaborate across departments to identify, prioritize and deliver on cross-functional initiatives.

Work style should be professional and self-directed; must be able to take initiative. Must work well independently and in a team. Must be diligent, patient, friendly, and have a sense of humor. Must have the ability to maintain strict privacy of confidential employee, customer and internal information. Experienced in using financial software and Salesforce or other CRM required. Experience with customer engagement platforms helpful.
