We specialize in baby greens, herbs, tomatoes and select vegetables. We are seeking an Assistant Post-Harvest Manager to join the team. The APHM works closely with the Post-Harvest Manager to run the wash/pack operation and organize customers orders. Although the APHM works under the PHM, this is a leadership position. A significant part of the job is washing and packing baby greens. Main tasks: -Lead crew in washing/packing produce - responsible for quality, speed, accuracy -Responsible for ensuring quality of produce - proper handling, temperature, cleanliness -Responsible for maintaining food safety protocols -Responsible for accurately filling customer orders to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction -Customer service - many of our customers pick up their orders at the washroom and may require assistance. -Meet daily goals while maintaining safety, efficiency and accuracy. -When there is not post-harvest work to be done, the APHM will do other farm work including harvesting, transplanting, weeding, trellising, etc. Qualifications: -Experience in produce whether on a farm or in another setting. Must be familiar with product identification and produce quality. -Strong organizational and time management skills -Self motivated -Attention to detail is a must -Strong work ethic, ready to lead, ability to take on responsibility, ready to learn, give and receive constructive feedback, enthusiastic about quality produce, ability to meet goals both individually and as a team. -Can lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly This is a year round position with hours ranging from 25-50 hours per week depending on season.
