Astarte Farm 123 West St HADLEY, MA 01035 Company Description: Organic No-Till Vegetable and Fruit Farm Salary Range: Location: Per Hour HADLEY MA Job Type: Category: Full / Part Time Agriculture Education Level: Work Experience: High School or Equivalent Preference: Preferred Up to One Year Preference: Preferred Skills/Certifications/Licences: Description: We are hiring for a position starting in late February or early March on an organic no-till farm in central Hadley. This position begins with 15 hrs/wk and peaks at 25 hrs/wk. The schedule is flexible and weekend work is always available watering and maintaining a seeding schedule. This position will be combined with General Field Crew hours for a full-time position. This position entails working closely with the production manager to follow the seeding schedule based on the field plan and seedling orders. Experience with seeding is a positive but not necessary. It is necessary that you are able to do tedious work repeatedly through the season and keep track of your progress during a long task. Efficiency in these tasks is learned, often the tasks do not change over the season, however the environment and types of seeds/materials change. In this position you are expected to be able to follow instructions on which materials to use, and how to handle seeds. Also necessary is keeping accurate records of which materials, how much and when they are used. This work is often done alone, or with the Production Manager. Requirements: Employees are required to:? • Be on time, and be ready to work at designated hour.? • Be prepared for the work day with appropriate clothing, water and anything else you need to work. • Keep track of your hours on Astarte Farm timesheet.? • Call or text if you are unable to make it to work.
