Description:
Amherst College invites applicants for a postdoctoral research position in the laboratory of Professor Michael E. Hood. Research will address the evolutionary genomic of chromosomes determining reproductive compatibility and consequences of recombination suppression. This research project will involve collaboration and work with participating laboratories. More information can be found at https://www.amherst.edu/people/facstaff/mhood. This is a full-time, two-year appointment. QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology, genetics or related field and have research experience and/or interests in the evolution of reproductive systems (particularly involving self-incompatibility systems), genome sequence analysis, chromosome dynamics and structural evolution and evolutionary genetics.
