Resource Advocate

Community Action seeks two energetic, highly organized individuals for our Orange and Northampton offices with excellent customer service skills to work with low-income individuals & families to answer our Information & Referral line, conduct over the phone comprehensive benefits screening, advocacy, and scheduling of appointments, and provide in person supportive services. In this position you will meet with people at various locations throughout our service area to do in-depth assessments of need using a strength based model, help with applications for and access to SNAP, health insurance, financial assistance and more, educate households about their budgets, develop plans of action to improve household stability and make connections to resources.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field; three years’ experience in Human Services or applicable work experience working with households with low-incomes (additional education may be substituted for related experience or additional related experience may be substituted for education); excellent computer skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and, reliable access to transportation to travel throughout Hampshire and Franklin county. Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) preferred. $15 an hour- 37.5 hours weekly. Excellent benefit package. Screenings begin immediately and continue until positions are filled.
