By using both traditional and modern growing practices, the farm maximizes efficiency with a small labor team and maintains bountiful fields. The farm uses non-GMO seed and grain and no synthetic fertilizers in order to maintain naturally organic and nurtured produce. The farm sells delicious, clean and beautiful food (infused with good vibes) weekly, to the Greenfield and Tuesday Northampton farmers markets. In addition to local markets, Hart Farm delivers a monthly box-share service to members in New York City. Description:
Hart Farm hires 1 or 2 part time assistant growers every growing season. This position is for a positive, hard and fast working farmer with 1 year experience of working on a farm. The job entails working 2-4 days a week from 8/9am-5pm. Pay for the 2018 season is $13/hr with lots of veggies, fruits, flowers and eggs to take home as well. Though there is some flexibility, we define the working season for assistant growers to be April 1 – October 1.

The Assistant Grower understands the ins-and-outs of the farm. He/She/They is responsible for daily chores, field preparation, cultivation, harvesting, washing and packing produce. This means that the Assistant Grower is comfortable communicating with the Farm Manager and does not have a problem delegating his/her/their own jobs. The Assistant Grower will be trained in the beginning of the season and is expected to develop ownership of his/her/their work. The Assistant Grower may have work at farmer’s markets or in other vending situations and is expected to represent the farm in a respectful, friendly and considerate manner.
Requirements:
1 year farming experience.
