Description: | BHN welcomes you to use your knowledge of substance abuse to help others maintain sobriety and live independently!
Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as an Outreach Substance Abuse Counselor in the Community Based Flexible Support (CBFS) program at Behavioral Health Network! Outreach Substance Abuse Counselors collaborate with Clinical Care Coordinators, group home managers, and outreach support staff to receive referrals of those who are abusing alcohol and other drugs and meet with group home staff to get more details of each individual’s issue and patterns of using. They meet with referred individuals to provide psycho-education on substance abuse and individual counseling and offer training and support to staff and group home workers about ways to approach intoxicated individuals. When an individual returns to the group home under the influence, Outreach Substance Abuse Counselors develop criteria for consequences. Throughout their work, they maintain appropriate service notes and other necessary documentation. There are many opportunities to learn and grow in this position! Outreach Substance Abuse Counselors learn about the different methods of approaching recovery in a dually diagnosed population and become proficient in software applications such as electronic health records.
