Hampshire College, an independent, innovative, liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a part time information technology office assistant.

The information technology (IT) office assistant provides support for essential functions of the IT department. The IT office assistant is responsible for the college-wide procurement of IT assets such as computers, software and other technology for the College; manages campus-wide software contracts and ensures compliance with software licensing agreements; maintains and reviews inventory records for computers, software packages and other equipment; supports departmental outreach efforts; and provides other administrative support to the information technology department.

An associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years purchasing experience preferably in an academic setting. Qualified candidates must be proficient with both Mac and Windows OS, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This 17.50 hour/week benefited position holds a grade 3 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. The work schedule for the IT office assistant is anticipated be a minimum of 3 1/2 hours/day, 4 to 5 days/week, to equal the benefited 17.50 hours. Some flexibility with scheduling is possible.
