Description:
For 40 years, The Center for EcoTechnology has helped people and businesses in Massachusetts save energy and reduce waste. We are hiring Customer Support Specialists to join the team that works with homeowners, farms and businesses who want to reduce costs and improve environmental performance through a variety of measures including electric and natural gas energy efficiency and waste management such as recycling, and composting.

The Customer Support Specialist provides timely, helpful and accurate information and support to current and potential customers and/or support staff. In this position, you will provide friendly and professional customer service by answering customer calls, processing customer information and contracts, and providing follow-up sales support. You will complete documentation and data entry in a timely and accurate manner. As needed, you provide general administrative support. The Customer Support Specialists is responsible for some or all of the functions below.

Primary Function:
Customer communication: Answer incoming calls arriving through select programs. Make follow-up calls as needed. Provide energy efficiency and program information and advice to customers. Look for opportunities to maximize customer energy savings and increase sales.

Scheduling: Schedule appointments according to established procedures. Ensure effective use of CET staff. Ensure staff are current with schedules using established protocols.

Administrative: Process information and/or contracts as required by program. Compile data in appropriate databases. Track and maintain paperwork. Create and distribute reports as needed.

Secondary Function:
Provide general administrative support, including copying, faxing, and material preparation.
Requirements:
Passion for the environment and community involvement. Must enjoy talking on the phone and be excited about talking to customers about ways to save energy and money. Knowledge of home construction/renovation preferred. Familiarity with designated region’s driving times helpful.

Minimum of 2 years experience working in an administrative office environment. Minimum of 2 years with customer service or scheduling experience. Experience with Windows-based software.

Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and sales skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
Including but not limited to the following: Normal office environment. Repetitive keyboarding movements and sitting 6-8 hours/day.
