JOB TITLE
Assistant Program Coordinator - College Steps at American International College – Springfield, MA
20hrs per week
$16.00/hr

BACKGROUND
College Steps (CS) is a non-profit that partners with colleges to provide individualized college support for students with social, communication, and learning challenges. The primary goal of College Steps is to prepare students for meaningful careers and autonomy after graduation. Therefore, College Steps places a strong emphasis on self-advocacy, employment, and independent living skills in the students we support. We believe in an atmosphere of academic dignity and integration for all students and believe in equal accessibility to college experiences for all. College Steps’ program at American International College supports college students for whom navigating college is challenged by social, academic, or independent living barriers.

BASIC FUNCTION
The Assistant Program Coordinator will assist the Program Coordinator at College Steps’ partnership at American International College. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Provision of CS student support and supervision; Program planning and development; Collaboration with state and local agencies; Attendance of IEP planning meetings; Management of student peer mentors; Direct collaboration with faculty and staff at American International College; Forge community partnerships to promote internship opportunities for CS students.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Two to four years of relevant experience in special education, adult education or related field.
• Excellent administrative, organizational, writing, and supervisory skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills.
• Team oriented work ethic.
