The HRYMCA is looking for an Aquatics Director who is a responsible and engaged leader that has a desire to change live, creating lasting impact on youth and adults in our community. The Aquatics Director is an essential part of the management team and must possess a leadership style that is team-oriented. Recognizing that this individual may bring skills in areas other than aquatics, these skills may be utilized through sharing of responsibilities with other professional staff. Because of the scope of the responsibilities, this position calls for a person of maturity and good judgment who has developed sound skills in human relations and maintaining the safety/quality of aquatic programs.
General Summary:
• The Aquatics Director is responsible for leading and developing the Hampshire Regional YMCA aquatics programs, the budget and staff affiliated with those programs.
• Manage, train, maintain, develop, and evaluate private swim lessons, swim team, lifeguard/swim instructor certification programs and staff.
• Responsible for the operations of the pool, and directly supervises lead staff, swim instructors and swim team coaches.
• Must also have the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, with strong human relations skills, and the ability to work effectively with a large and diverse constituency of members, staff, volunteers and peers.
